Heather, I'm delighted to see your new post. Did you bring in special dirt? When is your "frost free" date?
We are working on a little garden too. Ours has lots of rocks involved. Your Grandpa was with us this past week and we sat out and looked at dirt and rocks. I just have onions and parsley coming up.
Hi, Aunt Judy! I amended the soil with compost per the recommendation of some friends who have gardening experience here in Colorado. I have also fertilized the plants. I took the easy way and purchased starters from the local nursery since this was my first venture into vegetable gardening. Our "frost free" date is typically Mother's Day I am told. We planted (transplanted) tomatoes, peppers, onions, zucchini, and pumpkins. I also started some sunflowers from seeds in cups inside and put them in the ground outside today. It is fun to see how fast they grow! I'm glad you had a nice time with Grandpa. I enjoyed reading your updates to Aunt Kay on facebook.
I love your yard! It's really fun to see how its changed since we've been there. You are doing such a wonderful job! I can't wait to see you guys! Love, Kelly
I especially love what you've done around your front steps. So pretty!
